When traveling you have the option of whether you want to sleep on a flight or at home. If you want to sleep on a plane, do you know how to do so? Here are a few tips on how to sleep on a plane.
Remember how jetlag affected you before you left? Well, it’s the same thing on a plane.
It’s always best to begin your day and end your nighttime by about the same time. While this is not always possible, try to do so. If it’s not possible, try to be at the airport early enough. This will give you plenty of time to get up and go to the bathroom and eat your breakfast.
Get up an hour or so earlier than your scheduled arrival time. Also, try to get up as early as possible during the hour before your flight and don’t be late for your flight.
Pay attention to the time
Pay attention to the time in front of you on the plane. It’s better to stay in one spot and try to sleep as you watch television. You can even just use a watch to watch it at the airport and don’t make any sudden movements until your plane arrives.
Eating and Drinking
Avoid eating and drinking anything before the flight. If you must, wait until you reach your destination and then check to see if there are any open seats. You might want to take with you a small snack if there is no room for it in your luggage. If you are really hungry, however, buy some food at the airline counter and bring it to your seat.
Go Straight to Your Hotel
When you get to your destination, if possible, go straight to your hotel or bed and stay there until you feel rested and ready to go. Take a warm shower and apply a cool compress and follow that with a full-body bath. Do not talk to anyone while in this state. Talk to your body and get rid of stress and tension.
If you are traveling on a business trip and need to sleep on a plane, be sure to sleep at your destination. If it is possible, get up in the middle of the night and head back to your hotel or bed.
Falling Back Asleep
If you wake up in the middle of the night and you can’t get back to sleep, put some CD’s that have calming music on and play them. This will help keep you from having a panic attack while you’re traveling.
No matter how comfortable you think you are, stay in bed for the night if you have trouble falling asleep. Instead, find a cool place to rest and take a warm shower or bath. That way, when you wake up in the morning, you will feel refreshed and rejuvenated.
